Step 4: Assigning virtual machines to the target cluster

Specify the target cluster to host the selected virtual machines to be migrated.

Procedure

  1. In the virtual machine list on the left, you can either filter virtual machines to be migrated in the Search by VM name search box at the top, or check Select all on this page to select all virtual machines on the current page. The ASSIGNMENT RESULT column in the list displays the assignment status of each virtual machine in real time, including PENDING or ASSIGNED -> target cluster name.

Select one or more virtual machines, and then the target cluster in the cluster panel on the right. Click Assign to complete the mapping between the virtual machines and the target cluster.

In the cluster panel on the right, you can filter target clusters in the Filter target clusters search box. Each cluster entry displays the cluster name and corresponding storage policy information, including redundancy mode and encryption status, to help you select a target cluster that meets the requirements.

    Information:

Different virtual machines in the same migration plan can be assigned to different target clusters.

  2. Repeat the preceding operations until all virtual machines are assigned to target clusters.

  3. Click the arrow in the upper-left corner of the virtual machine list to view virtual machines for which target resources have been assigned. Confirm the number, names, and resource usage of the assigned virtual machines. The system will prompt an alert based on whether capacity risks exist in the target resources. If so, reassign target clusters for virtual machines based on the prompt.

  4. After confirming the information, click the arrow icon (>) on the right side of the top wizard bar to proceed to Step 5: Configuring network mappings.
