Cutover is the final phase of migration. In this phase, the source virtual machines must be shut down, and the controller performs the final data synchronization to complete the cutover from the source to the target.
Prerequisite
The virtual machine is in the Incremental sync complete state.
Precaution
Before performing cutover, make sure that the services are ready for downtime. After shutdown, the source virtual machine will no longer provide services.
Procedure
Navigate to the migration plan details page, check the virtual machines in the Incremental sync complete state, click Cutover in the toolbar, and select a cutover method:
(Recommended) Manually shut down the virtual machine and perform cutover:
Forcibly shut down the virtual machine and perform cutover:
Confirm the operation in the dialog box and the controller will automatically power off the source virtual machine through the migration tool.
After power-off, the controller will start the final data synchronization immediately.
Information:
Forced shutdown directly powers off the virtual machine without waiting for the operating system to complete a normal shutdown process. This may cause data inconsistency inside the virtual machine. It is not recommended to use this method unless you cannot manually operate the source virtual machine.
After final data synchronization is complete, the virtual machine state changes to Completed.
Alternatively, you can trigger cutover for a single virtual machine in the top action bar on the migration details page for a single virtual machine.
After cutover is complete, proceed to Confirming target virtual machines to check whether the migrated virtual machines run properly on the target.
