After full data transfer is complete, if the source virtual machine is still running, it will continue to generate incremental data. Performing incremental synchronization before cutover helps minimize the amount of data that needs to be transferred during cutover, thus shortening the service downtime window.
If incremental synchronization is configured to be triggered automatically when the migration plan is created, the system will automatically perform incremental synchronization at the configured interval. Alternatively, you can perform incremental synchronization manually as needed.
Prerequisite
The virtual machine to perform incremental synchronization is either in the Full migration complete or Shutting down state.
Procedure
Navigate to migration plan details page and find the virtual machine to perform incremental synchronization.
Check the target virtual machine and click Incremental sync in the toolbar, or click ... on the right side of the virtual machine card and select one of the following operations:
Run incremental sync: Performs incremental data synchronization once immediately. After synchronization is complete, the virtual machine remains in the Incremental sync running state. This operation can be performed repeatedly.
Automatically shut down the source VM after incremental sync: Performs incremental data synchronization and then automatically shuts down the source virtual machine. The controller then starts the final data synchronization for cutover.

Automatically shut down the source VM after incremental sync is available only when the source virtual machine has VMware Tools installed.
Confirm the operation in the dialog box. The controller schedules workers to start the incremental synchronization task. You can view the execution status of the incremental synchronization task in real time on the plan details page.
To perform incremental synchronization in batch for all eligible virtual machines in a plan, select Select this page, or check specific virtual machines, and then click Incremental sync in the toolbar.
After incremental synchronization is complete, if you have confirmed that services can be shut down, refer to the Cutover section to proceed to the final migration.
