You need to add migration sites in the following scenarios:
Procedure
After logging in to Arcfra Migration Tool, go to Sites, click Add migration site in the upper right corner, and select a site type according to the type of the source or destination cluster.
VMware vCenter: the site for the VMware vSphere clusters.
Arcfra cluster: The site for the ACOS (AVE) clusters.
In the pop-up Add migration site dialog box, fill in the site information and click Add migration site.
| Site type | Field | Description |
|---|---|---|
| VMware vCenter | vCenter address | Enter the IP address and port of the vCenter platform. If the port you enter is encrypted, tick Encrypted connection. |
| Administrator's username and password | Enter the username and password of a vCenter user that is assigned the administrator role for the virtual machines to be migrated. | |
| Description (optional) | Enter a description for the site. | |
| Arcfra cluster | Cluster address | Enter the management VIP address and port of the ACOS (AVE) cluster. If the port you entered is encrypted, tick Encrypted connection. |
| Administrator's username and password | Enter the username (root) and password of the super administrator of the ACOS (AVE) cluster. | |
| Description (optional) | Enter a description for the site. |
If adding a site fails, you can check for the cause prompted in the lower left corner of the window or refer to What should I do if I fail to add a migration site? to troubleshoot the problem. You need to resolve the issue before attempting to add the site again.
Repeat the above steps until both the source and destination sites required for the migration are successfully added.
After adding the sites, you can edit or delete sites on the Sites page.
