Pre-migration checks

After deploying Arcfra Migration Tool, you need to perform the following checks to ensure a successful virtual machine migration:

Checking the browser

Confirm that the Google Chrome browser is downloaded for accessing Arcfra Migration Tool's web page.

Checking the DNS server

If the ESXi host is added to the VMware vSphere cluster using the domain name, ensure that the DNS server is configured in Arcfra Migration Tool to parse the domain address. Otherwise, please refer to the following steps for configuration:

  1. Click the icon in the top right corner of Arcfra Migration Tool page and select Configure DNS server to open the Configure DNS server dialog box.

  2. In the dialog box, enter the server address to be parsed. Once done, click Save.

Checking the CPU compatibility

If Arcfra Migration Tool is deployed on a cluster using the AVE platform, ensure that the CPU compatibility of the virtual machine where Arcfra Migration Tool is deployed is set to Host passthrough or Sandy bridge.

If the virtual machine does not meed the requirement, refer to the following steps for configuration:

  1. After confirming that the virtual machine is in the Shutdown state, select the virtual machine from the virtual machine list to open its details panel.
  2. In the Advanced section of the details panel, click Edit to the right of CPU compatibility to open the Edit VM CPU compatibility dialog box.
  3. In the dialog box, select Specify CPU compatibility for the VM., and then select Host passthrough or Sandy bridge.
