Updating the NTP Server

The NTP server for the cluster has been initially configured during cluster deployment. However, you can still update the NTP server settings in AOC as needed.

Risk warning

Updating the NTP server settings may affect cluster availability. Proceed with caution.

Precaution

  • After switching from using an external NTP server to using a host within the cluster as the NTP server, other nodes cannot immediately synchronize their clocks with the NTP leader node. In this case, wait approximately 7 minutes before performing further operations.
  • If an NTP server is configured for AOC, ensure that the cluster's NTP server stays synchronized with AOC's NTP server.

Procedure

  1. Click a cluster to access its page, then select Settings from the tab bar, and select Cluster time.

  2. Specify the NTP server.

    • Use external NTP server

Configure the IP address for the external NTP server. You can use commas to separate multiple addresses. All hosts in the cluster must be able to access this server to ensure time synchronization.

    • Use internal NTP server

A host running Zookeeper in the cluster will be configured as the NTP server, and other hosts will synchronize with it. The initial time is consistent with the browser time.

  3. Click Save.
