Updating the software license

You need to update the license for a cluster in the following situations:

  • After the initial cluster installation and deployment, update the Trial license to a Perpetual license or Subscription license.
  • When scaling out is required, the current maximum number of hosts no longer meets your needs.
  • The current storage capacity of the cluster no longer meets business requirements, and additional capacity needs to be added.
  • An edition upgrade is required, such as upgrading from the Basic Edition to the Enterprise Edition.
  • Extend the validity period of a Trial license or Subscription license.

To update the software license, you need to provide all information about the current software license to your Arcfra account manager, who will then provide you with a new license code after the necessary business procedures have been completed.

Prerequisite

The used data partition capacity of the cluster is less than or equal to the maximum cluster capacity specified in the newly imported license.

Procedure

  1. Enter the new license code in the New license code field.

  2. Click the blank area outside the input box to load the new license information.

  3. After confirming that the information is correct, click Update to complete the license update process.
