During offline maintenance of hosts using maintenance mode, the system automatically checks the status of the cluster and hosts to ensure critical services on other hosts in the cluster are running properly, thereby safeguarding the integrity of remaining cluster data. Additionally, when using AVE, virtual machines can be automatically migrated or shut down to minimize the amount of data needing recovery during host offline maintenance operations. This enhances the speed of data recovery once the host is back online, ensuring uninterrupted virtual machine services during host downtime.
Within the same cluster, only one host or SCVM can enter maintenance mode or be in maintenance mode at any given time.
