Creating a mirroring egress network

The mirror egress network provides a dedicated and controllable egress path for mirrored traffic, which is suitable for complex or isolated network environments.

By configuring a dedicated mirror egress network, you can effectively address the following scenarios:

  • Mirrored traffic needs to be sent through dedicated physical NICs to achieve physical isolation from other application traffic.
  • The mirror destination cannot reach the management network or cannot be normally communicated with through the default gateway.
  • Mirrored traffic needs to be isolated from management network traffic using QoS policies. In this way, the dedicated bandwidth of both can be ensured.
  • Static routing policies need to be configured flexibly, for example, to specify different next hops for different mirror destinations.

Precaution

When creating a mirroring egress network, it must meet the requirements for associating a virtual distributed switch with VM networks and system networks.

Procedure

  1. On the AOC cluster page, select a cluster and click Create in the upper-right corner, and then choose Create mirroring egress network. Alternatively, on the cluster page, click All > Traffic mirroring to go to the Traffic mirroring page, and then click Create in the upper-right corner and select Create mirroring egress network.

  2. Configure the basic information for the mirroring egress network and enable static route as needed.

For detailed parameter descriptions, refer to the Basic information section in the System network details section.

  3. (Optional) Enable the QoS policy as needed.

For detailed parameter descriptions, refer to the QoS policy section in the Basic concepts section.

  4. Set a tunnel source IP address for each host. You can enter a Start tunnel source IP, and the system will automatically fill in the rest of the IP addresses in an incremental manner.

  5. Click Create.

After the creation, you can view the mirroring egress network details in the system network list.

Related step

After all traffic mirroring configurations that use the mirroring egress network have been deleted, select a cluster on the AOC cluster page. Click All > System network to go to the System network page, click ... next to the mirroring egress network you want to delete, and select Delete to remove the mirroring egress network.
