The traffic mirroring feature allows specific network traffic on a virtual distributed switch to be copied and sent to an analysis platform. It is suitable for scenarios such as network monitoring, performance analysis, and security auditing.
This feature supports flexible traffic selection and allows the use of either the management network or a dedicated mirroring egress network as the tunnel source. Mirrored traffic is forwarded to a remote IP address via an ERSPAN tunnel, enabling centralized traffic collection across hosts.
As enabling traffic mirroring may reduce the bandwidth of the mirrored networks, please only mirror necessary traffic after evaluation.
