Migrating a system network

You can migrate the management network, migration network, or access network to change the virtual distributed switch to which the network belongs. In addition, you can edit the network configuration when setting the migration task.

Precaution

• When migrating the management network, make sure that the physical network corresponding to the Target virtual distributed switch can connect to AOC. Otherwise, AOC may fail to be associated with the current cluster.

• Before performing the migration operation on the migration network, make sure that there is no virtual machine migration in progress.

• Once the access network is migrated, the system automatically adjusts the port connectivity test feature of the virtual distributed switch. Details are as follows:

  • Source virtual distributed switch:
    • If the storage network is already associated, network connectivity is tested through L2 Ping.
    • If the storage network is not associated, the port connectivity test feature of the virtual distributed switch is disabled automatically. You can enable it as needed.
  • Target virtual distributed switch:
    • If the storage network is already associated, network connectivity is tested through L2 Ping.
    • If the storage network is not associated and the port connectivity test feature is enabled, the testing method will be switched from using broadcast packets to L2 Ping.
    • If the storage network is not associated and the port connectivity test feature is not enabled, the port connectivity test feature is enabled automatically, and the connectivity is tested through L2 Ping.

Risk warning

The system network will be briefly interrupted during the migration process. If you have configured a virtual IP address for the management network or access network, the virtual IP address will also be briefly interrupted during the migration process.

Procedure

1. On the AOC cluster page, select a cluster and click All > System network to access the System network page.

2. Click the ellipsis (...) on the right side of the target system network and select Migrate.

3. In the opened dialog box, select Target virtual distributed switch and click Next.

4. Refer to the Basic information section in the System network details section to edit the network configuration as needed.

   Refer to the Editing a system network section for parameters that support editing.

5. Click Migrate.
