Installing ESXi and ACOS on new nodes

Precaution

If the nodes to be added previously have ESXi or ACOS installed, reinstall ESXi and ACOS to avoid expansion failure due to residual information or incorrect software versions.

Procedure

Complete the following steps:

1. Refer to the section Installing ESXi on each node to install VMware ESXi on the hosts to be added.

2. Refer to the section Configuring ESXi to set up the ESXi hosts to be added.

3. Refer to the section Managing ESXi hosts using vCenter Server to add the ESXi hosts to be managed by vCenter Server.

4. Refer to the sections on Configuring the storage network and Configuring the NFS network to configure the storage network and NFS network for the ESXi hosts to be added.

5. Refer to the section Creating an SCVM on an ESXi host to create the SCVM virtual machine on the ESXi host to be added, which will be used for installing ACOS.

6. Refer to the section Installing ACOS on an SCVM to install ACOS in the SCVM of the ESXi hosts to be added.
