Associating new nodes to the ACOS cluster

  1. On the AOC management platform, verify that the ESXi hosts have been successfully added.

    • The newly added hosts appear in the host list with details displayed, and the hosts are Healthy.
    • In the cluster overview, the storage capacity, number of hosts, and number of physical disks have all increased.
    • In the cluster overview interface, a new critical alert is added to the alert module, indicating that the newly added ESXi hosts are not associated to the ACOS cluster.
  2. In the cluster management interface of AOC, click the Settings tab, select ESXi, and enter the ESXi management IP, username, and password of the newly added ESXi hosts to associate the ESXi hosts to the ACOS cluster.

After the association is complete, the Critical alert under the Overview tab disappears in a few minutes, and both the total CPU cores and memory capacity are increased.

  3. Optional: If rack topology awareness is enabled for the cluster, click All > Rack configuration in the cluster management page of AOC, and then set the associated chassis and racks for the new ESXi hosts.
