The L2 gateway connects subnets in traditional VLAN networks with VPC subnets, providing L2 communication between VPC subnets and external VLAN networks, so that VPC subnets and external VLAN networks logically belong to the same subnet.
As shown in the following figure, the L2 gateway only forwards packets without modifying any packet content.
