Migrating virtual machines between two AVE platforms

Migration requirement Description
Version compatibility requirements for clusters The versions of the source and target clusters must be supported in Arcfra Migration Tool compatibility requirements.
Requirements for virtual machines to be migrated
  • The virtual machine has an operating system installed.
  • The number of disks on a single virtual machine is not 0.
  • The /root partition of the virtual machine is larger than 200 MB for initramfs backup.
Requirements for target hardware resources
  • The available CPU resources in the cluster are sufficient to support normal operation of the migrated virtual machines.
  • The cluster memory resources are greater than the total memory resources of all virtual machines to be migrated.
  • The available data space in the cluster is greater than the estimated required data space.

    Estimated required data space should be calculated as follows:

    Estimated Required Data Space = Sum of Disk Sizes of All Virtual Machines to be migrated x Number of Replicas
