    Observability 1.4.2
  • Managing observability

Associating clusters

After deploying the observability service, you need to associate it with the clusters to be observed.

Association rule

  • An observability service can be associated with multiple clusters, but a cluster can only be associated with one observability service.
  • For each observability service, the total number of physical nodes and virtual machines of all clusters cannot exceed the number specified in the requirements of Planning the configuration of observability services.
  • An observability service can only be associated with clusters whose connection status to AOC is Connected.

Procedure

  1. Log in to AOC, enter the System configuration page, select Observability in the left sidebar, and click Settings in the upper right corner.
  2. In the pop-up management dialog box, select a deployed observability service, and then choose Associated cluster.
  3. Click Edit associations. In the pop-up dialog box, add one or more clusters.
  4. Click Save to complete the association between the observability service and the clusters.

After association, you can view the list of clusters associated with the observability service on the Associated cluster page.

Parameter Description
Cluster name The name of the cluster associated with the observability service.
Cluster type The type of the cluster, which can be one of the following:
  • ACOS (AVE)
  • ACOS (VMware ESXi)
Association with observability service The connection status between the cluster and the observability service.
  • Associated
  • Associating
  • Disassociating
  • Associated abnormally: At least one agent in the cluster is abnormal.
  • Updating
Traffic visualization Whether traffic visualization is enabled. This feature is supported only on ACOS (AVE) clusters.
Cluster IP The management VIP address of the cluster.
Data center The data center to which the cluster belongs.
Workload cluster

The workload clusters with the AIC CNI addon enabled running on the cluster.

  • When only one workload cluster exists, the name of the workload cluster is displayed.
  • When more than one cluster exists, the number of clusters is displayed instead. To view the names of all workload clusters, hover over the icon on the right of the number and click Details.

Click the name link of a workload cluster to jump to the overview page of the workload cluster.

If you need to add or remove associated clusters, click Edit associations and perform the corresponding operations in the pop-up dialog box. When the observability service or the cluster is in the abnormal state, if you need to remove the associated cluster, you can click (... > Force dissociate) on the right of the target cluster and perform the corresponding operations in the pop-up dialog box.
