Exiting maintenance mode

After completing offline upgrade or maintenance, you can exit the host from maintenance mode. Before exiting, ACOS will also perform an exit check to confirm that the host or SCVM meets the requirements for exiting maintenance mode.

Procedure

  1. In the AOC host list, click the ellipsis (...) to the right of the host in maintenance mode and select Exit maintenance mode, or click Exit maintenance mode on the host overview page.

  2. In the pop-up Exit maintenance mode dialog box, the system performs an exit check as follows. If some of the check results do not meet the requirements, follow the suggested operations to make manual adjustments to the host, and then try exiting maintenance mode again.

Check item Suggested operation upon failure
The following requirements for services are all met:
    • The job-center-worker and zbs-iscsi-redirectord services on the node are running properly.
    • (AVE only) The libvirt and elf-vm-monitor services on the node are running properly.
    Fix the faults.
The storage network connection of the host is normal. Fix the faults.
  3. When all check items meet the requirements:

    • ACOS (AVE) cluster: In the dialog box, confirm whether to migrate back the virtual machines that were migrated out when the host was entering maintenance mode and whether to start the virtual machines that were previously shut down. Once done, click Exit maintenance mode.

      Information:

      • When exiting maintenance mode, the operation policy on whether to follow the VM placement group rules remains consistent with the policy selected when entering maintenance mode. If you select Ignore rule when entering maintenance mode, the rules will be ignored upon exit as well. Conversely, if you select Follow rule when entering maintenance mode, the rules will be applied upon exit.

      • When the host is in maintenance mode, if the virtual machine status or the host where the virtual machine resides has changed, or a passthrough device has been mounted to the virtual machine, the system cannot automatically migrate back or start the virtual machine when the host exits maintenance mode. In this case, you need to manually migrate or start them after the host exits maintenance mode.

    • ACOS (VMware ESXi) cluster: Click Exit maintenance mode.

  4. If the file controller of the AFS service was taken offline before entering maintenance mode, you need to bring the file controller back online after exiting maintenance mode. For AFS 1.2.1 version, refer to the chapter on bringing the file controller online. For 1.1.2 version, contact technical support for assistance.
