Limitations

  • The backup and replication data size supported by the backup service and replication service in this version is as follows:

    • A single backup service can back up a single VM with up to 100 TiB of actual data, or multiple VMs with the sum of the total actual data up to 100 TiB. If the total actual data size of multiple virtual machines exceeds 100 TiB, it is recommended to deploy multiple backup services.

    • A single replication service can replicate a single VM with up to 320 TiB of actual data. If the actual data size to be replicated exceeds 320 TiB, it is recommended to deploy multiple replication services.

    Note:

The actual data size refers to the logical used capacity of virtual volumes. For thin-provisioned virtual volumes, it is the actual capacity used; for thick-provisioned virtual volumes, it is the allocated capacity.

  • In this release, backup and recovery are limited to using the cluster's storage network. To use a single backup service for multiple clusters, the storage networks of those clusters must be interconnected. Otherwise, you need to deploy a separate backup service for each cluster.
