    Supported virtualization platforms

In Arcfra Enterprise Cloud Platform (AECP), Arcfra Cloud Operating System (ACOS) is deployed using a hyper-converged architecture. The virtualization platform can utilize either the native virtualization Arcfra Virtualization Engine (AVE) or VMware ESXi, and the functionality of the AECP platform is closely linked to the choice of virtualization platform.

    • Using Arcfra Virtualization Engine (AVE)

When using AVE virtualization, ACOS runs directly on physical servers. Once the AECP foundation is installed, it offers virtualization and block storage services through AVE and Arcfra Block Storage (ABS).

With AVE virtualization, you can choose to install other AECP cloud service addons, but the available options will depend on the specific AECP edition in use.

    • Using VMware ESXi

When integrated with VMware ESXi, ACOS runs with the Storage Controller Virtual Machine (SCVM) on the ESXi hosts to provide storage services via the Network File System (NFS) protocol, while virtual machine services are provided by VMware ESXi.

ACOS clusters using VMware ESXi for virtualization can still take advantage of the high-performance storage capabilities provided by ABS. However, AECP cloud service addons are not supported in this configuration.
