Deploying Arcfra Migration Tool

You can deploy Arcfra Migration Tool on the virtual machine in either the source or destination cluster. To accelerate data migration, it is recommended to deploy it in the source cluster.

There are two deployment methods:

• Using the ISO image file

  You need to create a virtual machine in the cluster, mount the ISO image on this virtual machine, and manually install the operating system containing Arcfra Migration Tool.

• Using the OVF file

  With OVF files, you can simply import a virtual machine with Arcfra Migration Tool already installed to a cluster without manual installation.

  Note:

  Deploying Arcfra Migration Tool via OVF files is more efficient. However, in the following scenarios, deploying via the ISO image is necessary:

  • When you need to customize certain configurations of the virtual machine on which Arcfra Migration Tool is deployed, such as disk size or boot options.
  • The cluster on which Arcfra Migration Tool is deployed is not associated with Arcfra Operation Center (AOC).
