A VM network is the network used by a virtual machine during operation. Depending on business requirements, multiple VM networks can exist in a cluster, and a virtual machine can connect to different VM networks through different virtual NICs. When a virtual machine is migrated between different hosts in a cluster, VM networks can ensure that the services provided by the virtual machine are not interrupted during the migration process, and there is no need to reconfigure a network database.
When a failure occurs in a VM network, the virtual machines associated with the failed network will be unable to communicate over the network.
