Adjusting SCVM latency sensitivity

The latency sensitivity level of SCVM is determined by the cluster performance requirements. Optimizing SCVM virtual machine latency sensitivity can reduce network latency.

For users with high performance requirements, it is recommended to adjust the virtual machine latency sensitivity from the default setting of Normal to High. Users without demanding cluster performance requirements do not need to adjust.

Procedure

1. Navigate to the virtual machine in vCenter Server, right-click and select Edit Settings. In the opened window, go to VM Options > Advanced to adjust the Latency Sensitivity of the VM to High.

   

2. Immediately shut down the SCVM and restart it to make the parameter adjustment take effect.

   Note:

   Restarting only the SCVM does not make the Latency Sensitivity adjustment take effect. Follow the instructions above that shut down the SCVM, and then restart it.
