Recovering virtual machines from the recycle bin

When virtual machines are retained in the recycle bin, you can recover them from the recycle bin. Once the retention period is exceeded, the virtual machines will be permanently deleted automatically.

Prerequisite

The number of days that the virtual machines are retained in the recycle bin does not exceed the number of days that the virtual machines can be retained in the recycle bin configured in the cluster.

Procedure

1. Navigate to Recycle bin in the global navigation bar of AOC. Select Recycle bin to access the Recycle bin page. On this page, select All VMs in the left sidebar to access the All VMs list, which displays the information about all virtual machines in the recycle bin.

2. View all virtual machines in the recycle bin by category. You can filter the desired virtual machines according to the permanent deletion time in the left sidebar.

3. In the virtual machine list, tick one or more virtual machines to be recovered and click Recover at the top of the list.

   For a single virtual machine, you can also select it and then click Recover in its details panel.

4. In the opened Recover VM dialog box, click Recover to confirm that the selected virtual machines will be restored to their original hosts in a Shutdown state.
