After installing and configuring the VM Initialization Tool, shut down the virtual machine and unmount the CD-ROM on which the tool ISO image is mounted. If the virtual machine already has a NIC static IP configuration, it is recommended that you delete the configuration manually. Then, refer to Management > Managing the content library > Managing VM templates > Creating a VM template section to convert the virtual machine into a template.
Note:
- When converting the virtual machine with the VM Initialization Tool into a template, be sure to mark the
VM Initialization Tool installedoption as Enabled, otherwise the initialization data cannot be configured when later creating virtual machines from this template.- Before the shutdown of a virtual machine for template conversion, if the virtual machine has been restarted or shut down after the initialization tool installation and configuration, clean the VM Initialization Tool instance before the final shutdown for template conversion.
