In a hybrid flash cluster, volume pinning mode ensures that the data of virtual volumes is always stored on cache physical disks, providing stable performance. Since cache resources are valuable in a hybrid flash cluster, if a virtual machine with pinned volumes is shut down for an extended period, it cannot take advantage of the performance benefits of this mode and wastes cache resources. As a result, the system generates an alert.
The virtual machine { .labels.vm_name } has been shut down for over { .threshold } days yet still has virtual volumes { .labels.vdisk_name } pinned in the cache.
This alert has no direct impact on system functionality or service operation. However, since pinned cache space is being wasted, other virtual volumes that need to enable volume pinning may not have sufficient space.
The virtual machine with volume pinning enabled has been shut down for longer than the configured threshold.
If the virtual machine still needs to use volume pinning, you can ignore the alert or disable this type of alert for the cluster in the alert configuration in AOC.
If the virtual machine is no longer an active virtual machine for key services, you can disable volume pinning mode for virtual volumes on the virtual machine's edit page, and the alert will be automatically cleared.
