Configuring basic configuration

Precaution

If you want to enable the ABS CSI addon, you must enable it when creating the VM-based workload cluster.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Kubernetes service page on AOC and click Workload cluster in the left navigation bar.

  2. Click + Create > Create cluster of virtual machines and configure the basic information according to the following instructions.

    Parameter Description
Name The name of the VM-based workload cluster at the API level, which cannot be modified once set.
Display name The display name of the VM-based workload cluster, which can be named based on actual needs. After the VM-based workload cluster is created, you can still click the ellipsis (...) > Edit cluster display name in the cluster's overview page to edit it.
    Location

Select the ACOS cluster to create the VM-based workload cluster.

The ACOS cluster where the VM-based workload cluster is located must meet the ACOS cluster compatibility requirements mentioned in Compatibility.

    Kubernetes version

    Select the desired Kubernetes version.

If the version you select has not been distributed to the selected ACOS cluster, you will need to prepare the Kubernetes node template in advance; otherwise, a creation timeout failure may occur.

    CNI

Select the CNI addon that needs to be enabled for the VM-based workload cluster. There are two options:

    • Calico
    • AIC

For detailed information, see Cluster addons.

    CSI

Select the CSI addon that needs to be enabled for the VM-based workload cluster. There are two options:

    • Arcfra Virtualization Engine (AVE) CSI
    • ABS CSI

For detailed information, see Cluster addons.

    Trusted container registry (Optional)

Configure one or more trusted container registries for the VM-based workload cluster, so that the VM-based workload cluster can pull the container images required by the workloads from the corresponding container registry.

If you have already added trusted container registries on the Global configuration page, the information of the added trusted container registries will be displayed by default; otherwise, it will be empty. For specific operations, see Managing global configurations.

You can also click + Add container registry to configure a trusted container registry for the VM-based workload cluster. For specific operations and precautions, see Managing trusted container registries.

Time zone configuration The time zone of the VM-based workload cluster, which will be applied to all components of the VM-based workload cluster. The default is the time zone configured for AKE.
