Step 4: Converting a virtual machine with cloudbase-init into a template

After configuring cloudbase-init, shut down the virtual machine and convert it into a template. See the Creating a virtual machine from a template section for specific instructions.

Note:

When converting the virtual machine with cloudbase-init into a template, make sure to mark the cloud-init Installed option as Enabled, otherwise the initialization data cannot be configured when later creating virtual machines from this template.
