The ABS Chunk service regularly checks the online status and I/O health of all physical disks it manages. When the system detects that a physical disk is inaccessible or has accumulated too many I/O errors, it automatically marks the data associated with that physical disk as abnormal and notifies the Meta service for data recovery. If a node experiences a failure that causes the ABS Chunk service to malfunction, the Meta service detects the anomaly through periodic heartbeat checks. After Chunk has been disconnected for a while, all data associated with this node is marked as abnormal, prompting a gradual data recovery operation.
