Cluster topology not conforming to best practices

Description

The node topology configuration of the cluster does not conform to best practices.

Alert message

  • The following bricks have not been placed in any rack: { .labels.bricks }.

  • The cluster has enabled Active-Active Cluster, but the hardware topology is not properly configured or the distribution of master nodes is not topologically secure.

Impact

When some nodes in the cluster have topology configured while others have missing or incorrect topology information, data distribution may not meet topology security requirements. In the event of topology-level failures, such as TOR switch or power supply failures, the cluster may not maintain the expected level of availability.

Cause

Some nodes have topology information configured while other nodes or chassis do not. For an active-active cluster, at least 2 master nodes are required in each availability zone.

Solution

Log in to AOC, go to the cluster's All > Rack configuration page, and configure the correct topology information for each node.
