Uninstalling the Arcfra VAAI-NAS Plugin

Typically, it is not necessary to uninstall the Arcfra VAAI-NAS plugin after installation. However, in some special cases, it may be required to uninstall the Arcfra VAAI-NAS plugin. For example, when upgrading VMware ESXi, it is recommended to uninstall the Arcfra VAAI-NAS plugin before performing the upgrade. Once VMware ESXi is successfully upgraded, you should then install the compatible version of the Arcfra VAAI-NAS plugin.

Procedure

  1. Enable the SSH service on the ESXi host and connect to it using an SSH client.

  2. Run the following command to confirm that the Arcfra VAAI-NAS plugin version is 2.1-4.

    esxcli software vib list | grep -i abs

  3. Run the following command to stop the vaai-nasd service:

    /etc/init.d/vaai-nasd stop

  4. Run the following command to uninstall the Arcfra VAAI-NAS plugin.

    esxcli software vib remove -n ACF-ESX-ABSNasPlugin

    After running the command, the system will display a message indicating successful uninstallation and provide information about the uninstalled software as shown in the example below.

    # esxcli software vib remove -n ACF-ESX-ABSNasPlugin
