Typically, it is not necessary to uninstall the Arcfra VAAI-NAS plugin after installation. However, in some special cases, it may be required to uninstall the Arcfra VAAI-NAS plugin. For example, when upgrading VMware ESXi, it is recommended to uninstall the Arcfra VAAI-NAS plugin before performing the upgrade. Once VMware ESXi is successfully upgraded, you should then install the compatible version of the Arcfra VAAI-NAS plugin.
Procedure
Enable the SSH service on the ESXi host and connect to it using an SSH client.
Run the following command to confirm that the Arcfra VAAI-NAS plugin version is 2.1-4.
esxcli software vib list | grep -i abs
Run the following command to stop the vaai-nasd
service:
/etc/init.d/vaai-nasd stop
Run the following command to uninstall the Arcfra VAAI-NAS plugin.
esxcli software vib remove -n ACF-ESX-ABSNasPlugin
After running the command, the system will display a message indicating successful uninstallation and provide information about the uninstalled software as shown in the example below.
# esxcli software vib remove -n ACF-ESX-ABSNasPlugin
