For detailed information about addons, refer to Cluster addons.
For the management clusters, Calico CNI, AVE CSI, monitoring, and logging addons are installed by default without any planning required. Workload clusters support addons such as CNI, CSI, monitoring, logging, external load balancers, and Ingress. You can plan according to your actual business needs. Different types of workload clusters support different combinations of CNI and CSI addons:
VM-based workload clusters: VM-based workload clusters supports two types of addons: CNI and CSI, which can be freely combined. different combinations correspond to different network preparations, so it is recommended that you confirm the addon combination in advance and make the necessary network preparations.
Taking the network topology in the figure below as an example, the management cluster uses the default CNI and CSI combination, and the four workload clusters use four different combinations.
Management cluster: Calico CNI and AVE CSI addons are enabled.
Workload cluster A1: Calico CNI and AVE CSI addons are enabled.
Workload cluster B: Arcfra Integrated CNI (AIC) and AVE CSI addons are enabled.
Workload cluster C1: Calico CNI and Arcfra Block Storage (ABS) CSI addons are enabled.
Workload cluster C2: AIC CNI and ABS CSI addons are enabled.
Note:
- Before using the AIC CNI addon, Arcfra Network Service (ANS) 3.1.0 or later versions must be deployed, and the ACOS cluster where the workload cluster using this addon is located must be associated with the ANS service.
- When using the ABS CSI addon, confirm that the target ACOS cluster version meets the requirements mentioned in Compatibility.

Physical-machine-based workload clusters: For CNI addons, only Calico CNI is supported; for CSI addons, you can use the ABS CSI addon. If you don't use this addon, after the cluster is created, you can also choose to configure the local disk of the physical machine as the storage backend or install third-party CSI addons to use various volumes supported by Kubernetes.
Note:
When using the ABS CSI addon, confirm that the target ACOS cluster version meets the requirements mentioned in Compatibility.
