Configuring the ESXi management network IP address

According to the ACOS network topology diagram, ESXi hosts communicate over the management network. Therefore, you need to configure the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway for the ESXi management network.

Procedure

  1. After the ESXi system has booted, press the F2 key, log in to the system with the root account, and enter the System Customization menu.

  2. Select Configure Management Network > Network Adapters. On the pop-up page, select the NIC bound to the management network.

  3. Select Configure Management Network > IPv4 Configuration. On the pop-up page, first select Set static IPv4 address and network configuration, then select IPv4 Address, and manually enter the management IP address for ESXi.

  4. Select IPv4 Configuration > Subnet Mask and enter the subnet mask. Then, enter the gateway in the Default Gateway option.

  5. (Optional) Select Configure Management Network > DNS Configuration and set the DNS host name and IP address.

  6. Save the settings.

  7. Refer to the above steps to set the ESXi management IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and other information for other nodes.
