Step 4: Configuring storage

  1. Select Tiered or Non-tiered based on the storage tiering mode that the cluster plans to adopt.

The system will automatically select the physical disk usage based on the selected mode and the physical disk type.

    Note:

Tiered storage is required for enabling volume pinning or using the erasure coding as the redundancy policy.

  2. Refer to the usage of each physical disk recorded when confirming storage device requirements to confirm the usage of the physical disk automatically selected by the system.

    • The cache disk with the metadata partition and the data disk with the metadata partition are the physical disks selected in step 5 when installing ACOS on software RAID 1, and their usage cannot be modified.

    • The Arcfra system disk is the physical disk selected in step 4 when installing ACOS on dedicated hardware RAID 1, and its usage cannot be modified.

    • For the remaining physical disks, if they have adopted the hybrid flash configuration or all-flash configuration with multi-type SSDs with tiered storage enabled, you can manually change the disk usage to Cache disk, Data disk, or Do not mount. You can modify the usage of a cache disk or data disk only when the disk usage determined by the system is incorrect. If they have adopted the all-flash configuration with single-type SSD, the remaining physical disks will be used as Data disk by default, and their usage can be manually changed to Do not mount.

  3. Click Configure network and proceed to the next step.
