AOC

Arcfra Backup & Disaster Recovery uses AOC as the management platform to help users perform synchronous replication and fault handling operations. AOC is Arcfra's multi-cluster management platform. It helps users efficiently and centrally manage virtual machines across multiple data centers and clusters, enabling distributed cloud architectures.

AOC provides the management page for Arcfra Backup & Disaster Recovery and serves as the entry point for related operations. On this page, you can manage Backup & Disaster Recovery installation packages, manage Backup & Disaster Recovery software licenses, install and upgrade replication services, manage synchronous replication plans, and manage associated sites.

  • Settings

When you perform synchronous replication-related operations on the management page, AOC UI first sends the operation requests to AOC Server. AOC Server then forwards the requests to the replication service, which performs the requested operations. During replication or fault handling, the replication service also calls GraphQL APIs provided by AOC Server to query configuration information about protected objects, create snapshots, and perform other operations. AOC Server and the replication service can call each other.

  • License management

License Server is installed on AOC Server to manage Backup & Disaster Recovery software licenses. License Server counts the license units used by services in AOC and validates operation requests. When a license expires or a related operation exceeds the license limit, License Server restricts the request.

  • Operations management

When you upload replication service installation packages, install replication services, upgrade replication services, or uninstall replication services on the management page, AOC UI first sends the operation requests to AOC Server. The AOC Application management component in AOC Server then creates, deploys, or deletes replication service virtual machines.

  • Site management

You can associate other sites on the management page to interconnect with external services. When a site is associated, AOC Server performs authentication. After authentication succeeds, AOC Server generates an API key for the other site and registers the site API key with the replication service. The replication service uses the API key to communicate with the other site.
