During replication, the source-side replication service establishes a connection with the target-side replication service through the replication network, forming a peer replication service relationship. During replication or fault handling, if the target-side replication service cannot connect to the source cluster, the source-side replication service can act as an intermediary between the target-side replication service and the source cluster to proxy ABS requests.
