Upgrade sequence

Due to the dependencies between certain components of AECP, you need to upgrade them in the following sequence:

Specific instructions:

  1. AOC

AOC, as the management platform for AECP, is responsible for the configuration, management, and operation of ACOS and addons. To ensure compatibility after the upgrade of each addon, you need to first upgrade AOC.

  2. ACOS

ACOS is the core operating platform of AECP, not only carrying the business workloads and providing services, but also serving as the foundational dependency environment for all addons. To ensure that addons run in a compatible and stable environment, you need to complete the ACOS upgrade before upgrading any addons.

  3. Observability

Observability provides monitoring and alerting capabilities for addons such as AKE, ANS, ABDR, and AFS. If your environment already has Observability deployed and associated it with the aforementioned addons, it is recommended to prioritize upgrading Observability to prevent monitoring and alerting anomalies caused by version incompatibility after the addons are upgraded.

    Information:

If you plan to upgrade AKE to version 1.4.0 or later, you need to upgrade Observability to version 1.4.0 or later before upgrading AKE. This is because the upgraded AKE system service and its workload clusters need to be associated with Observability version 1.4.0 or later to enable monitoring and alerting functionalities.

  4. Other addons: ABDR, AFS, AKE, ANS

After upgrading AOC, ACOS, and Observability, you can proceed with upgrading other addons, including ABDR, AFS, AKE, and ANS. However, no specific upgrade sequence is required between these addons, so you can arrange the upgrades based on your actual needs.
