    V

    VDS

A VDS (virtual distributed switch) that provides network connectivity between hosts and serves as the foundation for handling various types of system traffic and application traffic. ACOS converts a group of physically connected network ports to a virtual distributed switch using virtualization technology.

    VF

VF (Virtual Function) is a lightweight PCIe function. A VF shares one or more physical resources with the PF and other VFs associated with the same PF.

    vGPU driver

The vGPU driver is released with ACOS and is an NVIDIA Virtual GPU Manager modified and adapted by Arcfra. It is deployed on the virtualization platform to provide vGPU functionality to virtual machines.

    Virtual distributed switch

A virtual distributed switch that provides network connectivity between hosts and serves as the foundation for handling various types of system traffic and application traffic. ACOS converts a group of physically connected network ports to a virtual distributed switch using virtualization technology.

    Virtual machine

A computer system implemented through virtualization technology, which runs on a virtualization platform, with an independent operating system and dedicated resources.

    Virtual machine rebuild

In virtual machine snapshot scenarios, it refers to rebuilding a virtual machine from a snapshot, where the newly created virtual machine is identical to the state at the time the snapshot was created.

In virtual machine high availability scenarios, it refers to automatically restarting a virtual machine on another healthy node when the original host fails to ensure business continuity.

In Arcfra Backup & Disaster Recovery, it refers to a recovery mode that creates a new virtual machine identical to the state of the original virtual machine at the time the recovery point was generated.

    Virtual private cloud

A virtual private cloud (VPC) is a user-defined, logically isolated network space. Within each VPC, you can manage VPC subnets, route tables, floating IP addresses, gateway services, and security services to meet different network requirements.

    Virtual service

Each virtual service corresponds to an application. The load balancer receives all client connection requests and distributes them among backend servers in the virtual service.

    VLAN

A technology that logically partitions a Layer 2 network into multiple distinct virtual local area networks to achieve Layer 2 network isolation.

    VM group

A logical concept for organizing virtual machines with shared attributes for easier management.

    VM network

A VM network is the network used for virtual machine communication, which also provides services for external clients. It enables logical isolation between virtual machines to improve network security.

    VM placement group

A group that consists of constraints and rules for virtual machine placement and migration, ensuring that virtual machines run on appropriate nodes.

    VM user

One of the default roles provided by AOC, which has the permissions to edit virtual machine information, open the console, and perform power operations on virtual machines through VMTools.

    VM-based workload cluster

A workload cluster built from multiple virtual machine nodes.

    VMware access network

The network responsible for communication between SCVMs and local ESXi hosts.

    VMware ESXi

ESXi is a bare-metal hypervisor and a core component of VMware vSphere. It can be installed and run on physical servers. VMware ESXi specifically refers to the virtualization platform that runs the ESXi program.

    Volume mode

Specifies the mode of a volume, which can be either file system or block.

    Volume pinning

Volume pinning keeps data from virtual volumes (with AVE) or Network File System (NFS) files (with VMware ESXi) in the cache layer to achieve more stable and higher performance.

    VPC

A VPC (virtual private cloud) is a user-defined, logically isolated network space. Within each VPC, you can manage VPC subnets, route tables, floating IP addresses, gateway services, and security services to meet different network requirements.

    VPC peering

A network connection between two VPCs, which enables private network communication between the two VPCs.

    VPC subnet

A basic network module that composes a VPC. Virtual machines inside the same VPC can communicate with each other within a VPC subnet and between VPC subnets.

    VPC system network

Host TEP network, which is used to implement tunnel connections and data exchange between nodes in clusters associated with a VPC.
