    Failback

In ABDR, it refers to a mechanism that ensures that after the source virtual machine resumes the normal state, the data changed in the replica virtual machine during the failover is transmitted back to the source virtual machine, and the source virtual machine continues to provide services.

In VMware ESXi platform, a failback policy is enabled on a NIC team. If a failed physical NIC returns online, the virtual switch sets the NIC back to active by replacing the standby NIC that took over its slot.

    Failover

In ABDR, it refers to a mechanism for switching to replica virtual machines to take over the business when the source virtual machines fail.

In VMware ESXi platform, to determine how the traffic is rerouted in case of adapter failure, you include physical NICs in a failover order.

In AOC, it refers to the process in which services are switched from the active node to the passive node when the active node or its hosting environment fails, ensuring service continuity.

    Failover test

A simulation operation for virtual machine disaster recovery drills, which verifies the validity of the failover mechanism without interrupting the source production business.

    Fault handling

Recovery operations, including failover, failover test, failback, and permanent failover.

    File access network

A network used to provide file storage services to external clients.

    File controller

A system service virtual machine running the AFS service components.

    File management network

A network used for managing file storage clusters.

    File storage cluster

A cluster that provides file services. Consists of at least three file controllers.

    File storage network

A network used for internal data exchange within the file storage cluster.

    Floating IP

A 1:1 NAT configuration that binds an IP address from the external subnet to a virtual machine inside the VPC that needs to be actively connected from the outside, equivalent to an elastic IP address in public clouds.

    Flow

A complete network session that is transmitted from the source to the destination, with data transferred and processed between network nodes (such as clusters, virtual machines, switches, and physical hosts).

    Full backup

A method that fully backs up all data of a virtual machine to the repository, typically used for the initial backup.

    Full connection

The state where both parties have completed the three-way TCP handshake process and successfully established a connection.

    Full replication

A replication method which replicates all data from the source virtual machine to the target virtual machine, typically used for the initial replication.
